Sarah Siegel
The medicine that I strive to offer is the medicine of authenticity, along with deeply compassionate and nonjudgmental presence. I believe that every, single human being has an unharmed essence as the most fundamental aspect of who they are, regardless of what struggles they may have endured, and that this essence knows how to heal and contains great wisdom. The work I do centers on this belief. Beyond this, I am Level One trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) through the IFS Institute. I am a trained Recovery Coach and an Ordained Interfaith Minister. I am also trained in Motivational Interviewing and Motivational Interviewing for groups. I will be a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in January of 2022. In addition, I am pursuing training in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. I am the mother of three children, who I consider to be my greatest teachers and am married to my best friend.
I have endured an incredible amount of pain and suffering over the course of my almost forty years. I have survived and healed from much trauma, battles with severe addictions and a long and arduous recovery journey. As of December 2021, I will have 14 years in recovery from opioid use disorder and substance use disorder. I know, intimately, what it means to hurt and the flip side of that is that I now know in my bones what it means to heal. To the degree that my life once felt hopelessly broken and beyond repair, it now feels filled with gratitude, peace, and inspiration! This is the possibility contained within the work of recovery and one of my greatest joys is walking alongside others as they take their own, authentic healing journeys. May you have many bright and beautiful blessings on your path!
