Selma Holden, MD MPH

Family and Integrative Physician

My medicine path may have started when I was in utero and my mother, a third-generation female physician, drank coffee to keep up with the demands of being an obstetrician and gynecologist.  I was her fifth baby and born into a legacy of medicine within the US that holds the wounds of colonialism, patriarchy, science’s disconnection from the immaterial mysteries, and many other hurts.
My medicine stems from how I’ve grown through engaging these issues externally in my community and career, as well as internally through my own self-examination.  As a provider within the Riverbird Clinic at Good Medicine, my steps are led by deep gratitude for the privileges I’ve received and a committed responsibility towards serving this beautiful Earth and all of its beings.
