Jim became interested in the healing arts in the early 1980’s and eventually studied massage therapy, graduating from the Lakeside School of Massage Therapy in Milwaukee, WI. in 1994. He also attended training for Craniosacral Therapy with John Upledger in Florida. For several years Jim volunteered as a lead practitioner at Chicago’s AIDS Alternative Health Project. He also studied Traditional Thai Massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand and Evanston, IL. Upon moving to New York Jim provided massage through a grant with the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine (Episcopal). He worked at St. Paul’s Chapel providing relief to the rescue workers in the aftermath of the 911 attack. His ministry lead Jim to Albany, NY where he became a chaplain and massage therapist at the Albany Damien Center as well as a volunteer chaplain at the Albany Medical Center. During his time in upstate NY Jim studied Reiki. Jim’s massage technique draws from all of these modalities and experiences for a therapeutic and relaxing result. Jim’s good medicine is walking around Peaks Island year round, breathing, stretching appreciating the beauty of creation in the deep blue skies and ocean and the bright stars and moon at night. Jim will be offering 60 minute massage at GMC low cost clinic for $40.00 during the second and fourth Mondays of the month.
Note: Participates in Collective Bodywork clinics.
