Daisy Hackett

I am a fully credentialed and licensed kind, direct, and empathetic therapist and personal growth coach, with 8 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

I have recently moved back to Maine, after falling in love with the state when I attended Bates College for my undergraduate education, studying Cultural Anthropology. Inspired by my studies of human behavior in the social environment, I sought a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work at Simmons College in Boston, in order to make working with people my life’s work. In addition to my graduate school training, I engaged in post grad training in Structural Family Therapy through the Minuchin Center for Families in Brooklyn, NY, where I supported hundreds of families in the child welfare system to go on and meet their goals and engage in healthier parenting.

In my current private practice in Portland Maine, I work with each adolescent, adult, couple or family to create a unique treatment plan that targets your own specific needs, desires and goals. If we decide to work together, we will uncover your truths and help you to live a more relaxed and fulfilled life.

My approach is grounded in the trusting relationship we will build together and your unique needs. I offer skill building, problem solving, mindfulness, talk therapy, yoga, referrals and recommendations; all of which will allow us to better understand the connection to yourself and others.

When I am not working, I enjoy dog walks and hikes with my terrier Rita, yoga, watercolor painting, horseback riding, energy healing, nature and music.
