In this surreal time of global unrest regarding the coronavirus. It is impacting our very sense of security on many levels: Socially, our communities, our bodies, our finances. Money especially can be a taboo in our culture. And right now we are feeling a threat that impacts everyone’s financial security. It’s times like that that it is important that we have spaces where we can talk about this, feel and support each other and heal in community.
In this four session course, we will explore our relationship with money in community. Some of us believe that spirituality and money don’t belong together. In my journey, bringing my spirituality and mindfulness practice to my financial life has been incredibly fruitful and effective. I used to think decreasing my anxiety, shame and fear was simply about making more money. I found that working through my emotional blocks led to more peace and wisdom. I even learned to enjoy creating budgets and tracking money without winning the lotto or any significant change in income.
This is a financial course for people who are struggling with money or are in a comfortable place, but want to have more mindfulness around money. This is not a get rich quick course – I am not promising you 30 days to becoming a millionaire. We’ll use inner work, mindfulness practice and spiritual concepts to navigate and heal our relationship with money. We will also learn practical money management tools and use our awareness, self-compassion, and intentionality to help us implement those practices in our lives. Phoenix Soleil is not a financial planner.
Weekly topics include: financial biography, tracking spending and income, creating a purposeful plan, dealing with debt and there will be homework.
Wednesdays, May 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th 7-9pm
Four Part Series – Please commit to all four sessions
Due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19, we plan to do the course in a remote learning format unless Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations have changed. You will be able to participate in live class meetings via Zoom videoconference. To attend classes, you’ll need a phone or computer and access to the web. You can participate in the class from wherever you’d like, whether on your living room couch or in your home office. Before your class meets, you’ll receive an email from Phoenix with more information about Zoom and your remote class.
While we hope this class with May start dates might be able to meet in person, we’ll be sure to keep you posted. You will have ample time to get a refund if the class format does not work for you.
