For millennia, people have searched for headache remedies. Our modern culture predisposes us even MORE to headaches. We are always looking at small electronic devices with intense focus, straining our eyes, our necks, our minds. Headache pain can be disabling, preventing our patients from feeling vital and alive. We invite you to join us for a weekend of exploring integrative and holistic approaches to headache pain.
Combining the somatic maps from Travell’s trigger point patterns with structural principles of osteopathic medicine, traditional Chinese meridians and the philosophy of yoga, we broaden diagnostic and treatment options for the patient with headache.
We will emphasize “hands-on” table training and focus on educating the patient to become increasingly self-responsible. All of the workshop facilitators are teachers for or graduates of the University of Arizona’s Center for Integrative Medicine founded by Andrew Weil. This course is intended for MDs, DOs and advanced practice providers. Full participation includes 8am-5pm Saturday and Sunday which earns 15 CMEs.
Cost is $250 for providers and $175 for residents and fellows.
By the end of the weekend, you will be able to perform simple osteopathic techniques in your practice, teach your patients healing posture, practical ergonomics and clinically applied yoga.
